Job Description: Agronomist
We are looking for an experienced and skilled Agronomist with expertise in maize, beans, and cassava production. The role involves promoting sustainable crop practices, improving yields, and supporting farmers with technical guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct field assessments and provide technical support for maize, beans, and cassava cultivation.
Develop and implement crop production plans tailored to local environmental conditions.
Train and mentor farmers on good agricultural practices (GAP), soil fertility management, and pest and disease control.
Monitor and evaluate crop performance and recommend improvement measures.
Collaborate with research institutions, cooperatives, and agricultural extension agents.
Prepare technical reports and contribute to project planning and implementation.
Bachelor degree
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related field.
5–10 years of hands-on experience in maize, beans, and cassava production.
Strong knowledge of sustainable farming practices and soil management.
Willingness to conduct fieldwork in rural areas.
Excellent communication and training skills.
Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
