Job Summary:
A leading sustainability-focused organization is seeking a passionate and results-driven Commercial Manager to lead commercial operations for its flagship clean cook stove initiative. This role is pivotal in aligning sustainable energy solutions with market needs, supporting climate action, and improving rural livelihoods across Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Business Development

  • Design and implement business models tailored to distribution through banks and microfinance institutions.

  • Devise innovative approaches for last-mile distribution and financing mechanisms to reach all customer segments.

2. Sales Leadership

  • Formulate and drive a robust sales strategy to achieve ambitious growth targets.

  • Lead B2B and B2C sales efforts with a strong focus on measurable outcomes.

3. Relationship Management

  • Manage key customer accounts to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

  • Identify and onboard local sales partners; negotiate terms and oversee performance.

4. Supply Chain Collaboration

  • Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure smooth inventory flow and stock management.

  • Organize logistics for cost-effective shipping and handling of stoves and components.

5. Financial Oversight

  • Work with finance teams to monitor budgets, track revenue, and ensure accurate reporting.

  • Utilize micro-credit and cash flow insights to refine financial and sales strategies.

6. Operational Management

  • Handle operational tasks including warehouse setup and strategic partnerships.

  • Serve as the point of contact for contractors, service providers, and local stakeholders.

7. Government Relations

  • Engage confidently with government agencies and officials to support commercial and regulatory goals.


Qualification :

Bachelor degree

Primary Responsibilities :

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in direct sales, sales management, and business development (B2B and B2C).

  • Proven success in developing sales strategies targeting low-income segments.

  • Experience working with intermediaries, associations, and microfinance entities.

  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts including micro-credit and cash flow.

  • Comfortable navigating political and governmental environments.

  • International experience is a plus.

  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages (e.g., Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Fulfulde) is a strong advantage.

  • Strong analytical and performance-driven mindset.

  • Willingness to relocate to and work from Kano.

  • Personal passion for environmental sustainability and social impact.
