AIRLINE AGENT / PORTER

A dynamic and customer-focused organization is seeking a reliable and courteous Airline Agent/Porter to join our team. This dual-role position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced airport environment.


Key Responsibilities

As Airline Agent:

  • Respond to passenger inquiries regarding flight departures and arrivals.

  • Perform check-in procedures and assign seat numbers.

  • Issue boarding passes and baggage labels.

  • Inform passengers of luggage restrictions and handle excess baggage charges.

  • Provide assistance to special needs passengers and unaccompanied minors.

  • Make flight announcements for arrivals and departures.

  • Handle transactions accurately using cash, credit cards, or checks and follow airline close-out procedures.

  • Greet and assist customers courteously in person and over the phone.

  • Operate airline computer systems for check-in and other functions.

  • Maintain professionalism and customer service excellence without direct supervision.

  • Stand in one location for extended periods (3–4 hours).

  • Report to work consistently and on time.


Qualification :

Bachelor degree

Primary Responsibilities :

As Porter:

  • Escort wheelchair-bound passengers safely to and from aircraft gates.

  • Assist with baggage handling and related ground support tasks.


Requirements

  • Certification, experience, or training in related fields is an asset.

  • Prior experience with aviation ground handling, especially check-in services for Delta, JetBlue, or British Airways, is preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.

  • Strong communication and comprehension skills (oral, written, and math).

  • Ability to follow instructions, company policies, and standard procedures.

  • Willingness to work varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays, and during emergencies (e.g. hurricanes).

  • High reliability and a solid record of punctuality and attendance.

  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office; experience with airline software systems is a plus.

  • Calm under pressure, with the ability to de-escalate situations and solve problems tactfully.

  • Goal-driven, able to multitask and meet strict deadlines while providing constructive feedback.

  • Physically fit; able to lift up to 50 pounds comfortably.

  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, dust, noise, etc.).

  • Safety-conscious with strong attention to detail.

  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • A valid driver’s license with a clean record is an asset.

  • Must meet all regulatory requirements and pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.

  • COVID-19 vaccination required or willingness to be vaccinated.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: CI$6.00 – CI$8.00 (based on qualifications and experience)

  • Benefits: Health and pension benefits as per Cayman Islands Law.
