Farm Manager -Sugarcane Plantation
Bachelor Degree in Agriculture
• Eep.10+Years Practical experience in commercial -scale farming, with at least 3 years in a leadership or setup role for plantations over 1,000 hectares
Previous work in Africa or with remote multicultural teams is preferred
• Reporting to – Board of Director (Initially) and And later to company CEO
• Location: Omo Valley, Ethiopia

Key Skills
• Proven experience with pivot irrigation systems and harrow/farrow land development practices.
• Strong understanding of nursery techniques, crop management, pest/disease control, and soil health in tropical
or semi-arid zones.
• Hands-on approach with the ability to 'get things done' on the ground, even with minimal infrastructure and in
remote locations.
• Experience working in Africa or similar developing regions is highly desirable.
• Fluency in English is required; familiarity with Amharic or willingness to learn is a plus.
• Entrepreneurial, self-driven, and results-oriented mindset.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and team-building capabilities.
• Ability to thrive in lean, high-accountability environments.
• Comfortable living and working in remote/rural locations for extended periods.
JD :-
- Lead and execute the end-to-end setup of the sugarcane farm, including nursery development, site planning, and phased
planting.
- Develop and supervise the implementation of basic on-farm infrastructure, including roads, water access, fencing,
equipment sheds, and field housing if needed.
- Design and deploy irrigation systems with a focus on pivot-based and harrow & farrow techniques suited to the topography
and water availability of Omo Valley.
- Oversee land preparation and soil conditioning to ensure optimal crop establishment for the first and subsequent planting
cycles.
- Work closely with agronomists and consultants to optimize variety selection, planting schedules, crop rotation, and yield
management.
- Build and train a local operations team, maximizing local skills with minimal dependency on external resources.
- Implement and ensure adherence to lean farming practices, emphasizing productivity, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
- Establish reporting systems for daily progress, cost control, and crop health monitoring, keeping key stakeholders regularly
informed.
- Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and finance teams within the Raval Group as required.
